The Short Version

Highstreet has it's origins in the name of Mission Ventures Inc, which started in 2005, with Scott and Melissa Butler moving from Calgary to the Okanagan, with a plan to build 45 condos in Courtenay, BC. Together with partners Don Bell from WestJet, one other investor and Scott's brother, Matt Butler of Traine Construction Ltd.

The business was formed with the early principles of creating aligned interests for employees, partners and investors. On the strength of the first project's successful completion in November 2007, a 45 home condo project in Courtenay, BC, development continued with a Holiday Inn Express in the same city. Under construction on the hotel in the middle of the 2008/2009 downturn, the partnership realized the need for a new plan to stay viable going forward, and decided to branch out to anywhere in Western Canada and focus on rental apartments.

Highstreet has since developed and built 17 projects, including 48 townhomes, 301 condos, a hotel and 1,708 rental apartments. Highstreet has grown from one person working out of a home office to having a talented team of 19 people. Highstreet now focuses on developing rental apartments at condo quality in BC, Alberta and Ontario.
